Course objectives (in Czech)
To make progress to C1 level. Develop the vocabulary range and grammar. The focus will be on Speaking so that the students develop the right habits, namely in vocabulary and language competence.
Learning outcomes (in Czech)
Students will prove their knowledge of the above-mentioned vocabulary and grammar structures and they will be able to use them effectively in written and spoken communication in English at the level: beginning of C1 level.
Syllabus (in Czech)
Topics: In this course the students will go through the first 6 units of the Cambridge English Advanced Result coursebook. Extra materials focusing on enhancing of vocabulary (mainly collocations related to the topics), grammar accuracy and development of speaking will be used, based on the needs of the students. Topics – vocabulary areas: 1. Character adjectives, 2. Leisure and Festivals, 3. Travelling and Holidays, 4. Food, 5. Study time, 6. My First Job Grammar: 1. Review of tenses, 2. Making comparisons and articles, 3. Phrasal verbs, 4. Infinitive + -ing forms. 5. Indirect speech and reporting verbs, 6. Countable and uncountable nouns
Assessment methods (in Czech)
Students will participate actively during the lessons. Their progress will be assessed based on the tasks given in the course of the semester. In order to obtain the credit, the student will have to achieve 40% in the credit test.
