Cíle předmětu
Cíl: This is the second of two seminars providing students with an introduction to English literature. The course picks up where it left off in the previous semester and makes the transition to modernist English language literature via emerging themes in late Victorian literature and Edwardian society. By the end of the course students will have a clear sense of the principle developments in English language literature over the last century and a half; they will be familiar with the key themes and techniques of Modernist literature; and they will have had further practise of analysing prosody and close reading of prose.
