A aggreged oral exam from Teaching Language Systems and ELT Methodology 1. The students will be able to apply the theoretical knowledge of the subject in a combination with the insight gained during Teaching Practice I. Students prepare three seminar assignments based on the lecturer’s requirements.

To make the students familiar with the approaches used in teaching English language systems
Learning outcomes (in Czech)
The students will gain knowledge of English language systems within the scope necessary for effective language teaching and they will be able to apply this knowledge in the analysis of teaching materials and practical teaching.
Syllabus (in Czech)
  • 1. Introduction to teaching language systems, accuracy, fluency, types of presentations 2. Grammar: presentation, ways of checking understanding, types of practice 3. Vocabulary: presentation, ways of checking understanding, types of practice 4. Pronunciation, pronunciation practice activities, integration of pronunciation in teaching other language systems 5. Communicative functions and their role in teaching a language 6. The role of making mistakes in teaching, working with mistakes 7. Supplementary materials, using different types of course books and practice books, materials creation
