- The credit is granted on the basis of systematic preparation, active participation in the seminar and successful completion of the final written test. The subsequent examination is conditioned by passing the credit test.

- The aim of the course is to acquaint students namely with categories related to the English verb and the structure of the verb phrase.
- Learning outcomes (in Czech)
- The student gains knowledge of the terms of English morphology related to the English verb, its categories and verb phrase structure. The course is also focused on the reflection of the theoretical background against practical application and language skills, with the view of their usage in ELT.

- Topics: 1. The verb: the inflection of regular and irregular verbs. 2. The verb categories of person, number and mood/modus verbi. 3. Formal, syntactic and semantic classes of verbs. 4. Modal verbs I. 5. Modal verbs II. 6. The category of tense. 7. The category of aspect. 8. Referring to future in English. 9. The category of voice.
