- Course objectives (in Czech)
- To introduce the students to the area of the teaching of language skills and provide them with initial teaching practice Organisation: Students will work in 4-6 people teams under the supervision of the lecturer (supervisor). The lessons on the same day will be closely connected and will share teaching aims. Following each lesson taught a student will receive written feedback from the supervisor and oral group feedback and evaluative comments during the follow up seminar.
- Learning outcomes (in Czech)
- A student will gain adequate knowledge of teaching techniques and will be able to use them effectively when planning and delivering lessons in the context of the specific needs of the teaching practice group of learners and their levels of competency. Development in expected to be apparent in all respects of teaching (compared to Teaching Practice I).
- Syllabus (in Czech)
- 1. Supervised planning of three or four 30–45-minute teaching units focused on the development of language skills. 2. Peer observation of colleagues in the same teaching practice group, 3-4 times. 3. Group feedback, self-reflection, action plan for further development.
- Assessment methods (in Czech)
- Credit is awarded for the delivery of 3-4 teaching units to the teaching practice group and for submitting of a portfolio with lesson plans for the taught lessons and post-lesson reflection. The student will reflect on comments made by the supervisor, draw an action plan and act on it in subsequent lessons.
