Cíle předmětu
This two semester course, originally designed for native speaker teachers of English as a foreign language, provides an introduction to a descriptive grammar of those language features most commonly addressed in coursebooks used for English language-learning. In short, it compares and contrasts prescriptive and descriptive grammars for purposes of English language teaching.
Výstupy z učení
By the end of the course, students will be able critically to evaluate coursebook materials designed for grammar presentations and will have been given the opportunity to address weaknesses in their own language awareness.

Metody hodnocení
Course requirements for fulltime students are a minimum of 75 % attendance and a written test at the end of each semester. Course requirements for combined students are at least one passed homework assignment per semester and a written test at the end of each semester.
